Easy booking, nice place

I booked a dog friendly cottage near Whitby for a few days with the family. The website was straightforward to use, found a good spot pretty quick. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed. The kids liked it, and the dog was happy too. No complaints, really good stay.

Detailed review of our stay

My family and I booked 'The Moorland View', one of their large holiday homes, for an October half term break. The booking process online was smooth; I received a confirmation email instantly and then a pre-arrival email with all the necessary details a week before. Check-in was straightforward with a key safe code provided. The property itself was spacious and well-maintained. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, and the beds were comfortable with fresh linen. We had a minor issue with the Wi-Fi on the second day, but their customer support team was responsive and helped us troubleshoot it over the phone within an hour. The location was excellent for walking holidays, and we enjoyed the nearby trails. Overall, a solid experience with good attention to detail.

Good value, small issue

I opted for a short break discount on a countryside retreat. The price was really good for what we got, a lovely barn conversion. The booking was easy enough, and getting in was no problem. Everything was clean and tidy, but the hot tub took quite a while to heat up to a comfortable temperature, like a few hours. Once it was ready, it was great though. Good value overall, just a minor snag with the tub.

Always reliable for holidays

This was my third time booking with Yorkshire Hideaways, and once again, they delivered. I chose a cottage with sea views this time, having stayed in a farm stay and a glamping pod before. The consistency in property quality and service is why I keep coming back. The description online was accurate, and the property was exactly as expected. Everything was clean, and the check-in was seamless, just like my previous bookings. Always a dependable choice for a good holiday.

Absolutely gorgeous cottage!

We booked a romantic cottage for two, 'The Little Nook', for a weekend getaway and it was just perfect! So cozy and well-appointed. The open fire was such a treat. We had such a lovely time. Will definitely be booking another stay with Yorkshire Hideaways soon! I've already told my sister all about it.

Anyone tried to get a last minute deal with Yorkshire Hideaways? We're super flexible on dates for next month and hoping to snag something cheaper. Wondering how good the discounts actually are.

S Sam P. 2 months ago
They definitely do last-minute stuff. I got like 15% off a short break in June by booking a week before. Just gotta keep checking their 'special offers' page.

My buddy got a really good one, like 20% off for a cottage that was empty for the weekend. I think it depends on the property and how close to the date it is. Worth a shot for sure.

quick question about paying for a booking. do they offer any kind of payment plan or is it all upfront? hoping to spread the cost a bit if possible.

A Anna 2 months ago
I paid a deposit first and then the rest closer to the date, I think it was like 8 weeks before. So yeah, you don't have to pay it all at once.

Yeah, they let you split it. Deposit to secure, then the balance due later on. Made it much easier to budget for our holiday.

Hey guys, thinking of booking a cottage for a week in August through Yorkshire Hideaways. Anyone know if their properties actually look as good as the photos? Some of those places look too perfect, worried about getting there and it's a letdown.

J Jared 1 month ago
Yeah, I booked one last year near Whitby, and it was pretty much spot on. They say they inspect every property, and it felt like it. No dodgy surprises.

Honestly, my experience was good too. Stayed in a dog-friendly one in the Dales, and it was super clean and well-maintained. Always a gamble, but I think they do a decent job with their listings.

Do I need to worry about extra fees popping up when I book with Yorkshire Hideaways? Some of these sites hit you with cleaning fees or service charges at the last minute and it's annoying.

C Chris 2 months ago
Nah, I've booked twice and the price shown before payment was always the final price. No hidden extras for cleaning or anything like that for me.

From what I remember, everything was included in the price I saw. Bed linen, towels, all that. They're pretty upfront about costs, unlike some other sites.

Thinking of booking a romantic cottage for two through Yorkshire Hideaways, but I've also been looking at Gorgeous Cottages. Has anyone used both and can tell me which one they preferred for a couples' getaway?

D Daisy Torres 2 months ago
I've used both actually! Yorkshire Hideaways feels a bit more curated, like the properties are hand-picked for that 'luxury' vibe. Gorgeous Cottages has some lovely ones too, but I found the Yorkshire Hideaways website easier to navigate and filter for specific things like hot tubs or open fires for a romantic stay.

Honestly, depends on what you're looking for. Yorkshire Hideaways had a broader selection in the areas I was interested in (more coastal stuff), and I found their descriptions more detailed. Gorgeous Cottages is good too, but I'd compare specific properties rather than the whole site.
